I am a big fan of the British singer, song writer, actress and fashionista that we call Lily Allen. Ever since she came along in her girly dresses, quirky trainers and catchy tunes she instantly caught my attention.
Lily and her sister Sarah created a vintage meets retro fashion store called ‘Lucy in Disguise’ in Covent Garden, London. Not only can you shop to find the hottest styles from all around europe and admire clothes inspired by Vintage fairs and markets but you can also have a drink while you shop, with a vodka bar inside the store.
A channel 4 documentary was filmed during the creation of this fabulous store and is set to air March 15th. With that date hot on our heels I presumed Lily would be tweeting away
to encourage viewers to watch…..I couldn’t be more wrong.
Lily Allen today has left a number of tweets urging people NOT to watch the show, with things such as:
’We started filming it a year ago and I feel like a completley different person that the one that features in the programme. I’m inclined to’
‘ask you not to watch it cause quite frankly I am embarrassed. On the other hand I want you all to watch it so you can see how the press coverage of it has been totally sensationalised and quotes taken out of context. I should probably know better than to write this here’
‘But i feel it’s the only place where my words don’t get minced. That is all.’
From a preview of the show Lily Allen admitted that it has led her to develop an eating disorder. Lily Allen deserves a huge amount of respect for standing up and saying what she really thinks about her programme and problems in her life. She really is a true inspiration to all and I can only hope that she gets better soon!
